What is Bridge Fort Tech?

By offering tech tutoring services, my goal is to help make technology less intimidating and more accessible.

I enjoy technology, despite the frustrations it sometimes causes. I love what I can create with it, learn from it, how I can be entertained by it, communicate with it, and even use it to become wealthy.

It’s been shown to me a thousand times over that not everyone has the same ease with technology as I do. Obviously some folks have a lot more tech knowledge than I do, but there is still a significant portion of the population struggling to understand the basics. Those are the ones I’m here to help.

Technology is a powerful tool and I want everyone to be able to use it as much as they want.

I’ve decided to go more the tutoring route vs. teaching classes because I want to customize it to each person.

Some people just need to learn a few concepts or get a few questions answered. They don’t need a whole computer class to do that.

Some people need help learning the fundamentals so they know enough to be able to take a computer class.

It’s like upgrading, but for technology instead of math or science.

I also wanted to make learning technology more affordable (classes can be quite expensive) and more flexible so information can be taken in bite-sized pieces instead of drinking from the fire hose.

Know that everyone is welcome in my sessions. From those who don’t know how to turn on a computer to those who are more advanced and want to add to their existing knowledge.

My sessions are safe and fun learning spaces. There are no stupid questions, and I don’t give up till your objective is achieved.

For now, I’ll just be offering in-person sessions in Saskatoon and the surrounding area, but the goal is to travel throughout Canada, giving sessions wherever people need them.

I can also give sessions via video chat/conference, such as Zoom, WhatsApp, FaceTime, etc.

Let me know, via the contact page, if you have any questions.

“Just” the Admin.

I’ve been helping people with their tech for over 25 years.

It started when I was a student at the Saskatoon Business College, studying to become an Administrative Assistant.

My classmates kept asking me questions, even when the teacher was standing fifteen feet away. Some days, I’d get so many questions, I had to come back after school to get my own work done.

And it’s continued ever since with family, friends, co-workers, clients, members of the general public, etc.

It culminated in 2020 when I helped the non-profit I was working for at the time transition from paper to digital during the pandemic. Only my colleagues know how much I actually accomplished because to the outside world I was “just” the admin. assistant.

What makes Bridge Fort Tech Unique?

  • We meet in a public location that is easy for you to get to.
  • You learn on your own computer or devices so you learn according to the version you are currently using.
  • Sessions are based on your availability, not a set class schedule.
  • No curriculum to follow, so we can go at your pace.
  • Tutored by a middle-aged woman instead of a man.
  • I don’t fill my lessons with jargon. I use language that helps bring the abstract into tangible terms you’re familiar with.
